My philosophy

Creativity x logic

Neither creative director nor statistician, I marry logical, analytical thinking with a healthy dose of imaginative thought and intuition. This means I can bring data to life to tell important stories, land a creative thought, write so that people will want to read, and advise on things like design and graphics. In fact, I really like it.

Reality first

I studied business and started out my career in communications, but 14 years ago I went back to uni to get a second degree - this time in psychology - because I wanted to offer my clients solutions that were grounded in how people really behaved, and what people really thought. I spend a lot of my day thinking about people, listening to them talk and trying to put myself in their shoes, so that I can ground all of my work in basic human truths.

Small is beautiful

I’ve worked with some of the biggest and most established organisations in the world. But I love supporting smaller organisations with their business problems, helping new businesses get off the ground and working with clients who have unique challenges. “Consultancy” shouldn’t be reserved for the big players. Everyone should have access to help when they need it.

I pride myself on giving straightforward, practical advice that’s usable from the get-go. That means no fluff, no jargon and no lengthy reports. No-one’s got time for that. Instead, you get simply argued, concisely communicated recommendations you can act on.
